Coconut Milk – Coconut milk is a high fat milk product made from the coconut pulp. Generally, it does not contain more than 1-‐2 grams of protein per serving. This product is not able to replace the amino acids or protein that is provided with regular cow’s milk.
Coconut Oil-‐ Coconut oil is often used in cooking and many trainers state that it is healthier than olive oil. It is not healthier than olive oil. It is about 90% fat (depending on the product) and this is primarily saturated fat. Research shows that a diet high in saturated fats contributes to inflammation. Athletes need to work to reduce inflammation and not create it.
