Why We Run

By May 28, 2018 No Comments

This is my pal, Shane. Shane has MS and has refused to let it slow him down. Last month he competed in historic weather in Boston. This past weekend he battled the heat in the York Marathon. Warm temperatures make any activity even harder for Shane and anyone with MS. Below was an excerpt from an email Shane sent me after his race this weekend.

“Long story short, heatstroke, puking for 9 miles, and a visit to the medical tent at the finish with a temperature over 101. Finished just under 5. I was set for a sub-4 finish which was my goal until it heated up. Oh well, thankful I can still do it – even though I’d run Boston in a nor’easter twice before doing that again once!”
