Running isn’t a sport with immediate gains. It takes a lot of perseverance to reach your potential as a runner. This means incorporating speed work, hill repeats, and yes, slow runs, to maximize your running gains.
But when it gets tough our minds want to trick us into giving up and to take the easy way out. Don’t do it! You’re capable of so much more than you realize. Find your reason why, come up with a mantra, and repeat it.
I got mine tattooed on my legs. It’s a reminder that MS won’t beat me. When I get tired and my head starts to dip I can read “Shut Up Legs” and “One More Mile” on my lower quads. This motivates me to suck it up, run tall, and keep going!
So vary your workouts, find your why, come up with a mantra, and don’t stop – Run Moore!
