About Us

We are located on 28 West Main Street in downtown Westminster, Maryland. As Carroll County’s premier running store, we supply a wide variety of products designed to fit every customer. From organizing Pub Runs with our favorite brand reps to hosting speciality speakers at the local theatre, we provide a lot of events and opportunities for our folks in the community to attend.

We opened our doors in the Summer of 2014. The idea for the store was born, coincidentally enough, after the birth of owner Steve Moore’s second son. It was during his time off that Steve needed new running shoes but didn’t have the time to leave Carroll County to go to a speciality running store. Realizing there was a need in the area for a running store, Steve set out to open a store that would not only provide shoes but also knowledge, group runs, books, nutritional options and much more.

Here to Serve the Community

Although we are called Run Moore, we are happy to help anyone who wants a high-quality athletic shoe. Typically we assist clients who are on their feet all day, such as hairdressers, nurses, or teachers. We also love to geek out and help our clients plan for their next race, whether it is a 5k or ultra marathon.

We carry a variety of brands such as Brooks, Hoka, and Newton but our stock is consistently changing to keep up with the latest running technology. Our shoes range from cross country spikes to sturdy walking shoes. We also provide running belts and chews that suit long distance training and events.

Our Story

August 22nd 2014

Our Opening Day!

On the Thursday before the Flower and Jazz Festival in 2014 we received the keys to our shop. We quickly had a sign made and put it up for all the traffic coming through during the festival. During Flower and Jazz I took my family into the shop for the first time and pointed out all the crazy ideas I had.

June 2019

Happy Friday! Well, if you’ve been on Main Street recently, you may have noticed our sign posted in the beautiful space just a few doors down from Jeannie Bird and Rafael’s. We are so excited to share with everyone that later this Spring we are moving!!! This new space is stunning and we can’t wait to open our doors and welcome in the community. We’ll keep you posted on an official move date, until then we will be in our current spot on Liberty Street! 📦

2014

We won the Carroll Biz Challenge!

“I am so overwhelmed with the support and well wishes we’ve received in the last day. On behalf of myself and my team, we are thrilled to be the 2014 Carroll Biz Challenge Champs. Our First Pub Run!

Now a Run Moore tradition, our Pub Runs are usually on the 3rd Thursday of the Month. It is a great time to catch up with our community, go for a run and drink a free beer at one of Westminster’s restaurants!

In 2017 we set ourselves our yearly resolution, those that completed their goal won a free Run Moore Tech shirt!

Another Best of Carroll nod! Four years in business and four years we’ve placed. We’re honored to be named runner up to that little underdog, Dicks Sporting Goods, in the Best Sporting Goods division. We appreciate all the votes and support!

Congrats to all the other local shops who earned their Best of Carroll sticker today. Hope to see everyone this week for FallFest and Friday Frenzy.

What a fantastic evening! I am so grateful and proud that we were named Top 50 Running Store in America. I can’t thank everyone enough for believing in us and helping this dream come true. I was getting choked up last night talking to other shops about this journey to get to this point. It doesn’t even seem real. I can’t wait to hang this award at the new location!

Lockdown Spring 2020

Thanks to the support of our running and walking community we’re still here to reopen our store after lockdown.  We’ll be open with some new procedures like wearing a mask and limited capacity. We’re going to take things day by day so please bear with us. We hope after a day being open we’ll be able to formulate the best plan for your experience and the safety of our team.

Thanks for all the love and well wishes for the last few months. We’re so lucky and proud to be here and we can’t wait to catch up with all our friends.
